Privacy Policy

Your privacy is very important to us. Our aim is to process your personal data in a manner that is lawful, appropriate and transparent. In this privacy policy, we explain which of your personal details we collect and how.

Treatment of data for our reinsurance activity

KBC Group Re SA is the internal reinsurance subsidiary belonging to the KBC Group. The company specializes in protecting via reinsurance the group's bank and insurance entities.

When we enter into a reinsurance contract with an insurer to provide reinsurance coverage, that coverage is usually linked to a policy or a group of policies that the insurer has written with its own insured(s). The management of these activities may entail the processing of personal data of reinsured individuals, so called data subjects. We collect and use this information on an anonymized basis, meaning that the personal data can no longer be associated with you as an individual. We use these anonymized data solely for fulfilling our reinsurance obligations, retrocession and statistical studies. The core insurance related processing activities are the responsibility of the primary insurer. Therefore, whilst this Privacy Policy applies to reinsured individuals, it does not cover key activities directly related to the insurance contract with a primary insurer. You should therefore also review the privacy notice provided by your insurer(s) in order to understand the purposes for which personal data may be processed and the activities involved.
